Family Guy season 21  is set to begin on Sunday September 25 in the US. New episodes will air weekly at 9:30 PM ET, although occasionally, there’s a two-week gap between episodes. Previous seasons have each had around 20 episodes, so we can expect the new series to run until early next year. Below, we’ll let you know where you can watch season 21 of Family Guy online, either live or on-demand.

Note: we’ll only be recommending official sources in this post. Family Guy is an extremely popular show, which means unlicensed streams are all but guaranteed. However, these are usually only available in low resolutions, and can be taken down at any moment for copyright violation. As you can watch Family Guy for free online anyway, there’s no reason to use unofficial streams.

Family Guy season 21 will only air on geo-restricted platforms. In other words, you’ll need a Virtual Private Network (VPN) to watch on your home streaming service while traveling abroad.

How to stream Family Guy abroad with a VPN

Don’t worry: using a VPN to bypass regional restrictions is easy once you know how. Just follow the steps below to unblock and stream Family Guy from anywhere in the world.

Here’s how to watch Family Guy (season 21 online) from anywhere:

  • First, pick a reliable VPN. We recommend NordVPN because it is fast and works to watch FOXfrom anywhere. Alternatively, Surfshark works and is very cheap, and ExpressVPN is a great all-rounder.
  • Next, install the VPN software. Most providers offer apps for Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android, so make sure to download the correct version.
  • Choose which of the official sources below you’d like to use.
  • Connect to one of your VPN’s servers in the relevant location. For instance, you’d use a US server to unblock FOX, or a British server to stream it on ITV Hub.
  • Try loading a video from your chosen source. It should load very quickly, but if not, try refreshing the page or restarting your browser.

If you’d like to watch Family Guy live, we strongly recommend performing the steps above before it actually airs. This way, if anything doesn’t go to plan, you’ll have enough time to contact your VPN’s customer support team for advice.

US

American fans can watch season 21 of Family Guy on FOX. The most recent episodes are available on-demand, and while you’ll have to sign in with your cable provider details to watch the latest one, the others can be watched for free, without registration, as long as you’re in the US or connected to a US server.

You can also stream Family Guy live in the US if your cable subscription includes FOX. You will have to create a FOX Now account first but this is free and only takes a minute.

If, on the other hand, you are cord cutter and don’t have a cable TV subscription, you can still watch FOX live via various online streaming platforms:

  • fuboTV
  • Hulu
  • Sling TV
  • YouTube TV

Hulu is the least expensive option; your first month is free, and the service costs $5.99 USD per month thereafter. Additionally, this service allows users to watch every previous episode of Family Guy on-demand.

All of the above services are region-locked, so you’ll need a VPN to use them outside of the US. NordVPN comes with a risk-free 30-day money-back guarantee, which means you can use it to watch Family Guy risk free.

UK

There’s no official word as yet but If this release is anything like previous years, season 21 will air a few months later in the UK. Here’s the good news: past seasons of Family Guy all aired on ITV, meaning you can watch them for free via the ITV Hub. You’ll also have the choice between watching them live every Monday night at 9 PM or streaming them on-demand the following day.

You will have to create an account before you can start streaming on ITV Hub. This doesn’t cost anything and only requires you to verify your email address. You will be asked to enter a UK postcode during registration but this isn’t used to check your location.

It is true that UK law requires you to have a TV License to watch TV live. However, you can stream Family Guy on-demand without one on ITV Hub. There are no verification measures in place to check you have a license, making it easy to watch Family Guy abroad as long as you connect to a UK IP address.

If you’d like to get caught up before the new season begins, Disney+ has seasons one through eighteen for just £7.99 per month.

The ITV Hub uses geo-locking to prevent users from outside the UK from streaming. If you are on vacation or traveling for work you will need to connect to a British VPN server.

Canada

Unfortunately, there are no details on when we can expect to see season 21 of Family Guy In Canada. However, new episodes are traditionally shown on CityTV. Users can tune into the live stream for free, but will have to log in with a supported cable provider to watch episodes on-demand. Additionally, Disney+ currently offers the first 19 seasons for $8.99 CAD per month.

These services geo-restrict their content, so you’ll have to use a VPN to watch from outside of Canada. Remember: if you usually live elsewhere, you can access your usual streaming platforms from abroad by connecting to a VPN.

Australia

There has been no announcement yet on when season 21 will arrive in Australia. In the meantime, though, fans can stream seasons 1–16 on Stan ($10 AUD per month), and seasons 17, 18, and 19 on Disney+ ($11.99 per month). Reruns are show pretty frequently on free-to-watch TV as well; just tune into 7plus to stream these live or on-demand.

All of these services are geo-blocked, so you’ll need a VPN to use them abroad.

Can I stream Family Guy online with a free VPN?

Although free VPNs can be tempting, we strongly advise against using them. As these services regularly have more users than their servers can support, you’re almost guaranteed to experience painfully slow browsing speeds, stuttering video (which usually means you’ll miss sections of live broadcasts entirely), and long buffering times. With free VPNs blocked by most major streaming services, you may not be able to watch anything at all.

Not every so-called free VPN has your best interests at heart. In fact, one study revealed that of 283 surveyed free VPNs, almost 40% actively tried to infect the user’s system with malware. Worse, more than 18% allowed users to browse without encryption, even though they thought they were protected. Even major free VPNs come with risks, as we found in 2015 when one was caught facilitating a botnet with its users’ idle bandwidth.

You can’t be too careful with your personal information. To stay safe online, we recommend using a quality VPN that doesn’t log anything which could identify you, and which has a proven record of standing up for its customers’ privacy.

What can I expect from season 21?

Family Guy is still one of the most popular animated series on US TV, and with such high viewing figures around the globe, it is no wonder that Seth MacFarlane’s animated gem keeps on being granted more seasons.

In the show, Peter Griffin stars as the bumbling dad – with his family, including a talking dog called Brian at his side. Chris is a socially awkward teen who is clueless about the opposite sex. His older sister Meg is an 18-year-old school dropout.

Lois is the Matriarch of the family and is often portrayed as a kleptomaniac with sadomasochistic tendencies – who used to gamble and take drugs (and may fall off the bandwagon any second). Despite her many flaws, she is primarily the voice of reasons for her husband Peter.

If the early leaks are to be believed, the premiere of season 21 will pay homage to a few famous films: Silence of the Lambs, American Beauty, and Forrest Gump. Just be sure to have your VPN prepped if you are outside of the US!

Do I need a fast VPN to watch Family Guy online?

Yes. Although there are many competing VPNs on the market, we strongly urge you to stick to our recommendations. Most VPNs have now been blocked by the services that carry FOX, meaning they will not work to watch Family Guy on vacation.

In addition, many VPNs are too sluggish to stream Family Guy. This article recommends fast VPNs that have everything you need to unblock Family Guy from anywhere in the world. These VPNs will let you stream in HD without buffering, thanks to their Tier-1 servers with unlimited bandwidth.
