It is finally time for the return of Showtime’s popular series about the ultra-rich. The sixth season of Billions will premiere at 9 PM ET/PT on Sunday, January 23.

Anybody with a subscription to Showtime can watch the show, but due to geo-restrictions, you will need a VPN to stream Billions on vacation. To help you out, we’ve explained how to watch Billions season 6 online from anywhere – so you don’t have to miss a second.

Billions is incredibly popular, which makes it likely that unauthorized streams will circulate. However, these frequently fail to offer the same level of video quality, and they’re at risk of being taken down for copyright violation.

That is why we have only recommended official sources to watch Billions season 6 online. On the plus side, with an almost simultaneous international release, it’s easy to stream Billions from just about anywhere

Season six of Billions will only air on geo-restricted streaming services. If you’re traveling abroad and looking to watch on your usual platforms, you’ll have to connect to a Virtual Private Network (VPN) server in your home country.

How to unblock and live stream Billions season 6 from abroad

VPNs are quite easy to use but they can be a little overwhelming at first. Below is our simple step-by-step guide to unblocking and watching Billions season 6.

Here’s how to watch Billions (season 6) online from anywhere:

  • The first step is getting a suitable VPN. We recommend NordVPN but if you’re looking for a low-cost alternative, ExpressVPN and Surfshark are both strong choices.
  • Next, download and install the VPN app. Most providers allow multiple connections at the same time, so feel free to install it on all of the devices you use to stream.
  • Decide which of the services below you’d like to access abroad, then connect to a VPN server in the appropriate country. You need an American server to unblock Showtime abroad, for example, or a Canadian server for Crave.
  • Log in to your chosen service (or create an account if you haven’t already) then try playing a video. It should load immediately but if you have any problems, we recommend clearing your browser’s cookies and reloading the page.

Note that Billions season 6 will air live. This is why it’s so important for you to make sure your VPN works properly (using the steps above) before the premiere. This approach ensures that if you run into problems, you’ll still have time to contact your VPN’s customer support team and won’t have to miss the start of the long-awaited fifth season.

How to watch Billions season 6 on US TV

Billions season 6 will air exclusively on Showtime in the US. New episodes will be broadcast at 9 PM ET/PT and will be added to the platform’s on-demand catalog the same day. If you’re looking to catch up ahead of the premiere, Showtime also has the first four seasons.

If your cable TV package includes Showtime, you can just enter your provider details and start watching immediately at no added cost. Luckily, though, there are plenty of ways to watch Billions online even if you don’t have cable. Users can sign in with a fuboTV, YouTube TV, DirecTV Stream, or Hulu account, and if you don’t have any of these, you can always sign up to Showtime Now for $10.99 USD per month (after a 30-day free trial).

Showtime is region-locked and only available in the US. However, by connecting to a US VPN server, you can use it while traveling abroad. NordVPN offers a risk-free 30-day money-back guarantee, allowing you to watch Billions season 6 and claim a full refund if unsatisfied.

Where else can I stream Billions season 6 live online?

This is a hugely popular show, so it should come as no surprise that season 6 will be released internationally. What is unusual, though, is how quickly it’s available outside of the US. Below, we’ll let you know which networks are showing the new series of Billions in your country:

Canada

Canadian viewers can stream Billions’ sixth season on Crave the same day that it’s released in the US. Unfortunately, Crave has done away with its basic plan. This means you will need to pay $19.99 to stream Showtime on Crave.

If you are new to the Billions, or looking to catch up before the new episodes arrive, Crave has you covered. You can use the service to watch seasons 1–4 on-demand.

Just bear in mind that Crave is geo-restricted and can only be accessed within Canada. As a result, any Crave subscriber outside of Canada on vacation will need to use a VPN to get a Canadian IP address.

Australia

Stan is the official Billions broadcaster in Australia. This platform will have a new episode every week from January 24. If you can’t wait a week, you can always rewatch your favorites since all four prior seasons are available on-demand. Stan costs $10 AUD and comes with a one-month free trial.

This service is region-locked. As such, if you’re outside Australia, you won’t be able to use it without the help of a VPN.

UK

Billions season 6 is set to premiere in the UK on Sky Atlantic on Monday, January 24 at 9 pm. This means that Sky TV customers will be able to watch season 6 via the Sky Go app. It’s also possible to watch Sky Atlantic without cable; you just have to sign up to Now TV. This service’s Entertainment pass costs £8.99 per month and comes with a seven-day free trial.

Both Sky Go and Now TV are geo-restricted. This means that if you’re outside the UK, you’ll need a VPN to access them.

What do we know about the sixth season of Billions?

Fans of the show can expect some changes because its lead character, hedge fund billionaire Bobby Axelrod (played by Damian Lewis) will not return, and will instead be keeping a low profile in Switzerland. The decision to make his escape to Europe at the end of season 5 also led to the end of what seemed like a blossoming romance between Axelrod and Wendy Rhoades. That relationship it seems is destined never to happen.

In season 6, Mike Prince, played by Corey Stoll, is set to take center stage as head of Axe Capital. This follows his purchase of Axe’s fortune for a pittance. The big question is, will he be able to resist the temptation that drove Axel to his demise? After finding out that Prince isn’t as squeaky clean as he pretends in season 5, the answer seems likely to be no.
