Blink cameras are great self-monitoring security cameras. But since Blink doesn’t offer any professional monitoring, it’s important to know all the ways you can view your Blink camera’s live feed and videos. One way you can access your camera’s feed is through your TV.
You can only view a Blink camera’s live feed on a Fire TV or Fire Stick; both the Blink camera and Fire TV have to be connected to Alexa. You can also view your camera feed or recorded video clips by casting them from the Blink app on your phone to a smart TV.
However, before you can view your Blink camera stream on your Fire TV, you will need to link the camera and the TV to your Alexa app. If you’re going to cast your phone screen to your TV, you will need compatible devices such as an iPhone and an Apple TV.
Blink Camera and Smart TV Compatibility
You can use Alexa voice commands to view your Blink camera’s live feed on a Fire TV or Fire Stick; this is the only way to view a Blink camera on a TV directly.
How to Use Fire TV to View a Blink Camera
To view your Blink camera’s live stream on your Fire TV, you will need to link the camera and TV to your Alexa app if they aren’t already connected. (This article has tips for linking a Blink camera to Alexa, and here are the directions to link your Fire TV.)
If you don’t already own a Fire TV, you can purchase a Fire Stick and plug it into your current TV as an alternative.
Note: You cannot watch recorded video clips through your Fire TV. However, you can still view them on your TV using some roundabout methods. You can share the video clips from the Blink app or cast them from your phone. (More on this later.)
Alexa Commands
To view your Blink camera live feed on your Fire TV, simply say, “Alexa, show me my [name of the camera].”
You can also use the following voice commands to control your Blink camera through your Fire TV or another Alexa-enabled device:
- “Alexa, ask Blink to disarm.” (When you use this command, Alexa will ask you to provide your Blink pin.)
- “Alexa, ask Blink to get my status.” (Alexa will list the statuses of all your connected Blink cameras.)
- “Alexa, ask Blink when was the last motion clip.”
- “Alexa, ask Blink how many motion clips I have.”

Alternative Ways to View Your Blink Camera On a TV
There are several less direct options for folks who don’t have a Fire TV or Fire Stick. Each method has different device requirements.
If you have an Echo Show, it’s another great way to view your Blink camera footage.
Mirroring Your Phone On an Apple TV
If you have an iPhone and an Apple TV, you can also view your Blink camera feed or recorded videos using AirPlay. As long as you have compatible devices set up on the same Wi-Fi network, this is an easy way to view your Blink camera feed and video clips.
- Go to the control center on your iPhone.
- Click on the screen mirroring icon.
- Select your compatible smart TV.
- Enter the code from the TV into the phone to begin mirroring.
- Open the Blink app and play the live stream or video clips.
Note: You can use this same process with an iPad.
These are all fantastic ways to watch and rewatch some moments in your home too, such as if your dog does something funny.
Casting the Blink App to Your TV
If you have a Chromecast or Chromecast-enabled TV, you can do the same thing by casting your phone on your TV; this can be done with any phone with the Google Home app. This is an easy, affordable option to view a Blink camera’s live feed and recorded videos on your TV.
Sharing Blink Camera Video Clips
If you have a smart TV, you can upload recorded video clips from the Blink app to YouTube on your phone and watch them using the YouTube app on your smart TV.
This method is not very convenient, and it doesn’t allow you to view the live stream on the TV. However, it does have its perks: You won’t have to purchase another smart TV or casting device. And, it’s ideal if you want family or neighbors to be able to view the videos on their TVs too.
Here are the directions to share your Blink videos.
In Summary
The most convenient way to view your Blink camera on your TV is by using Alexa voice commands on a Fire TV or Fire Stick. With this method, you can view a camera’s live feed and check all your Blink cameras’ status, but you cannot view recorded video clips. To view recorded videos, you can cast or mirror your phone screen onto your TV with a Google Chromecast or Apple TV.
