Microsoft Teams is one of the widely used team collaboration software. Available for Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android, Teams allows users to chat, call and share files with team members.

The free version of Microsoft Teams allows unlimited one-to-one meetings for up to 30 hours long, group meetings for up to 60 minutes, unlimited chat, file sharing, data encryption for meetings and chats, and up to 100 participants per meeting.

If you have been using Teams and encountering an issue with it, reinstalling it might solve the problem. This guide will show you how to reinstall Microsoft Teams on Windows 10/11 and Mac.

NOTE: When you reinstall Microsoft Teams, your sign-in details will be deleted. However, other data, such as the chat history, will be retained and available once you sign in to your account. You will have to sign in to the Teams app again after reinstalling the app.

Reinstall Microsoft Teams in Windows 10/11

Step 1: Go to Windows 10/11 Settings > Apps > Apps & features page.

Step 2: Look for the Microsoft Teams entry. On Windows 10, click on the Microsoft Teams entry to see the Uninstall button. Next, click on the Uninstall button and then click the Uninstall when you are asked for confirmation to uninstall and remove Microsoft Teams.

If you are on Windows 11, click on the three dots next to the Microsoft Teams entry and then click the Uninstall option. Click on the Uninstall button when asked for confirmation.

Step 3: Once the Teams is uninstalled and removed, open the Store app, search for Microsoft Teams, and click on its entry to open the dedicated Microsoft Teams page.

Step 4: Click the Install button to download and install the Teams app.

Step 5: Launch the Teams app using Start/taskbar search and then sign-in to Teams using your Microsoft account.

Reinstall Microsoft Teams on Mac

Step 1: Open Finder by clicking on its icon in the dock or using search.

Step 2: In the Favorites section of Finder, click on Applications to open the Applications folder. This folder includes all installed apps on your Mac.

Step 3: Perform a right-click on the Microsoft Teams app and then click the Move to Bin option.

If asked for the authentication, please do the needful to delete the Teams app from your Mac.

Step 4: After deleting Teams, visit this page of Microsoft and download the latest version of the Teams app.

Step 5: Perform a double click on the Microsoft Teams installer and follow the easy on-screen instructions to install Teams.

Step 6: Finally, launch the Teams app and sign in with your Microsoft account to begin using Teams.
