Windows Trick: How To Access Apps From Windows Lock Screen?
Windows OS is packed with lots of useful built-in solutions and functionalities; we need to search the nook & cranny of the system to find them.
Don’t worry, for this ‘How-To’ you don’t have to go deep down. Follow the steps carefully to run a program over Windows 10 Lock Screen without using any third-party software.

STEP 1- Not many users know, but Ease of Access module in Windows settings is quite helpful & it assists users with a plethora of accessibility features. You have to assign a Windows 10 app to the Ease of Access button on Windows 10 lock screen. As soon as you do that, the Ease of Access features will start appearing on the Windows Lock Screen.
STEP 2- To do so, open Registry Editor. (Shortcut to launch Registry Editor – Press Win + R > On the Run Window type, Regedit & hit Enter)
STEP 3- Follow the below directory. (Copy-paste the following path on the top of the registry editor).
STEP 4- From the set of folders, you have to right-click on “Image File Execution Options” > New > right-click on Key.
STEP 5- A quick folder would be created down below with the name ‘New Key #1’. You have to rename it as utilman.exe
STEP 6- Now from the right pane of the window, click on New > String Value > Give it a name Debugger
STEP 7- You have to right-click on the Debugger folder > Modify > Now carefully enter the complete directory of the app or software, you would like to run from your Windows lock screen. (You can open the File Explorer, locate the desired app or software of your choice & copy its path).
STEP 8- Paste the directory in the Edit String option in the newly created Debugger folder.
STEP 9 – For this guide, we are taking Task Manager as an example to open it at the Windows 10 Lock Screen. So, enter the value data to C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe in the Debugger folder.
STEP 10 – Hit Enter key to save the Entry & close Registry Editor. Now sign out from your Windows to see if this method is working for you to access apps from Windows Lock Screen. The result should appear something like this!
If you want to launch & run Task Manager when you are locked out of Windows, change the value data to C:\Windows\System32\taskmgr.exe & hit Enter!
Note: We would like to bring this to your notice that not every Windows 10 Software will work through this trick. Mostly Microsoft Apps shows the problem when we try to open them via such executable files.
