Can I install Minecraft free trial?
Yes, you can install the trial version of Minecraft if you would like to try the game before buying it.
Installing Minecraft on Windows 10/11 PC
Step 1: In a web browser, visit this free trial page of Minecraft.
Step 2: Click on the Windows logo to redirect you to the XBOX website.
Step 3: On the XBOX website, click on the GET Free Trial button. Note that, on this page, you can select the edition of Minecraft you want. To change the default edition, click on the Choose Edition button and select one.
Step 4: Next, you might be asked to sign in with a Microsoft account. If asked, please sign in.
Step 5: Once again, you will see the following page where you need to click the GET Free trial button.
Step 6: Upon clicking the GET Free Trial button, you will see the following screen. Here, click the Get button to proceed.
Step 7: You will see the “Success” screen. Click the close button on the dialog but do not close the tab yet.
Step 8: Once again, you will see this page. On this page, you can click the Install To Free Trial or Get Game Pass to purchase it. We are proceeding with the free trial, as we can buy it later as well.
Step 9: Clicking the Install To Free Trial shows this dialog where you need to click the LAUNCH button to download and install Minecraft. Note that the download size is over 1000 MB and might take some time if you are on a slow internet connection.
Click the LAUNCH button.
Step 10: Next, you will see a pop-up in the browser saying that “This site is trying to open Xbox.” Click on the Open button to open the XBOX app installed on your computer.
Step 11: In the XBOX app, click on the Install button.
Step 12: Next, you will be asked to select a drive for the Minecraft installation. As you can see in the picture below, it takes about a GB of disk space. So, choose a drive with sufficient disk space.
Select a drive and then click the Install button.
Step 13: The XBOX app will now begin downloading Minecraft. You can see the progress in the app.
Step 14: Once Minecraft is installed, you can launch it from the Start menu.
