Unlike previous versions of the Windows operating system, Windows 10 offers little control over Windows Updates. With default settings, Windows 10 automatically downloads and installs available updates.

While it’s possible to defer and disable Windows Update in Windows 10 Pro, disabling Windows Update is not an easy job in Windows 10 Home.

As said before, there is an option to Defer updates in Windows 10 Pro edition. When the Defer updates option is turned on, Windows 10 will not automatically download and install Windows Updates for several months. But this Defer updates is not available in Home edition.

Of late, many Windows Updates for Windows 10 are causing issues rather than fixing issues. Users often complain about new issues after installing Windows Updates or driver updates.

To help all Windows 10 Pro and Home edition users, Microsoft has released a free utility to hide available Windows Updates and driver updates for Windows 10. By using this little utility, you can hide the problematic updates in a jiffy without disabling Windows Update.

Show or hide updates allows you to hide one or more Windows Updates as well as driver updates. The utility comes in handy if you know that a recently released Windows Update is causing issues, and you don’t want your Windows 10 to automatically download and install it.
