In Windows 8, Windows 7, and Windows Vista, we had a feature called Windows Experience Index. Windows Experience Index feature was first introduced with Vista to help users easily measure their computer performance without having to use advanced benchmarking tools.

The Windows Experience Index feature basically rates your PC on five key components: Processor, Memory (RAM), Graphics, Gaming graphics, and primary hard disk. Each piece of these five critical hardware in your PC gets its own score called a subscore.

The base score indicates the lowest individual subscore. The feature was a craze among geeks back in the days, and there were many workarounds and tools to improve the WEI score.

Windows Experience Index is not part of Windows 10 (not present in Windows 8.1 as well). That said, Windows 10 still calculates scores for your PC’s components, but they are not shown by default. If you love the feature and want to get Windows Experience Index in Windows 10, you need to either use the PowerShell or third-party utilities to get the score.

Check WEI score via PowerShell

Step 1: At the PowerShell window, copy and paste the following code:

Get-WmiObject -Class Win32_WinSAT

Press Enter key to view the Windows Experience score for your Windows 10 PC.
