An Apple Watch is undoubtedly one of the best gadgets of the 21st century that one could have. It consists of a bundle of features, which are individually offered by other smartwatches or bands.  Most of the smart bands are designed to be fitness trackers, which continuously monitor the steps you walk or run and even record your sleep patterns with heart rate. Others allow you to make calls and check notifications only.

However, Apple has been a world leader in term of technology, and Apple Watch is no exception from its wide range of astonishing products. But with newer devices, comes more modern technologies and notifications. And one of the essential but irritable symbols is the Apple Watch’s red dot notification.

So Why Does My Apple Watch Show Red Dot Notification?

The red dot on Apple Watch is a notification that informs the user that there are some other unread notifications that the user must attend to. Any information that is not read or responded falls in this category. It also included those notifications that have been vaguely dismissed on your Apple Watch. The red dot that appears above the 12-mark on clock signifies that your attention is required to read pending notifications.

Can I Remove the Apple Watch Red Dot Notification Forever?

Although I would not recommend disabling the red dot on Apple Watch for good, if it seems too annoying then perhaps it is wise to get rid of it. It is an easy task and follow these steps mentioned below:

Step 1. Open the Watch app on your iPhone.

Step 2. Tap on Notifications to access the options.

Step 3. Now turn off the Notifications by sliding the toggle button next to Notifications Indicator, towards the left.

This will turn off the red dot on the Apple Watch face even if you have unread notifications.  To enable the Notifications Indicator, follow the same steps and turn the toggle switch towards the right to turn it on.

Can I Still View the Notifications After Turning the Apple Watch Red Dot Notification Off?

Even if you have turned off the red dot on your Apple Watch, you can still access the notification centre on your Apple watch. Disabling the red dot on Apple Watch Face means you won’t be informed of the arriving notifications, but they will still keep coming. There is also an added advantage of viewing the notifications in Apple Watch OS 6 over its preceding versions.

Usually, an Apple Watch allows the user to swipe down on the Watchface from the top and view the notifications in the notification centre. But if you have upgraded to Watch OS 6 and are using an app on your watch, you do not need to exit out of the current app. Just hold on the top edge of the Apple watch screen and wait for a handle to pop out. Then drag that handle downwards, and you will be able to see the notification centre on the face of your Apple Watch. The same steps can be repeated if you want to access the Control Center, instead.

Did you get rid of the Apple Watch’s red dot notifications?

The red dot on Apple Watch is an essential tool that was carefully placed by Apple to inform the users of the unattended notifications. But considering an average iPhone user with all those social media apps around, it seems that the red dot will be a permanent feature on your Apple Watch face. In that case, it is wise to get rid of it unless you are too bothered by it.
