If you are looking to find the serial number on Windows 11, you should know that it’s pretty easy to check.

How do I find my serial number on Windows 11?

1. Use the Command Prompt

  • Go to the Search Bar, and type Command Prompt in the search box.
  • After Command Prompt opens, type in one of the following command and press Enter: wmic bios get serialnumber wmic csproduct get identifyingnumber
  • After entering the command, you should get a response with the exact Windows 11 serial number.
  • If you wish to find out what your PC’s model number is, type in the following command and press Enter: wmic csproduct get name

That’s it. This method is the same as the one people used in Windows 10 since the Command Prompt hasn’t changed at all. All you have to do is follow the steps above and you’re gonna find the serial number of your Windows 11 laptop or computer.

We’ve also included a way to check your computer model, in case you were wondering since it’s quite useful. It can be done using the same method, but a different command.

2. Check your UEFI

  • Restart your device.
  • Depending on your PC’s manufacturer, you will be briefly asked to press a certain key during the booting process.
  • Press that key (Usually DEL, F1, F2, and Escape) until you open the UEFI settings.
  • Once inside the UEFI, look for text containing the Serial number, just like the one in the picture below.
  • You might need to select the category, or you might simply find the number showcased in the main menu.

Not every manufacturer uses a similar UEFI interface, and it usually depends on which motherboard you use, so you might not see the same UI like this one.

However, all the UEFI screens should have a Serial number section, and it doesn’t depend on your Windows version. Therefore, it is very easy to check your serial number on Windows 11 in this way.

3. Check your PC hardware’s box

Another way to check your serial number is to simply take your motherboard‘s shipping box and search for a sticker that contains the number.

Some PC issues are hard to tackle, especially when it comes to corrupted repositories or missing Windows files. If you are having troubles fixing an error, your system may be partially broken. Manufacturers will always print the serial number on their boxes, together with other information such as the production batch, etc.

Keep in mind that you need to check the motherboard’s box specifically since it is the piece of hardware where the BIOS is installed, and where all the other of your PC components are connected.

Additionally, if you received warranty service, the company responsible for the warranty should’ve included the serial number in a mail or some form of document.

4. Use Settings

Alternatively, you can also find out your computer’s serial number via Settings. This is what you need to do:

  • Right-click on the Windows button.
  • Select Settings from the list.
  • Go to System > About.
  • Under Windows specifications, you will see the serial number of your device.
